SunRail is excited to announce the upgrade to our new Ticket Vending System, designed to enhance customer service with faster processing times and expanded ticketing options. This transition will be seamless for most riders, with only a few changes to note for your ticketing preferences:
For SunCard Holders:
- Discontinuation of Old Cards: The yellow SunCard will no longer be valid starting Monday, June 17, 2024.
- Introduction of New Cards: Purchase the new blue SunCard exclusively at SunRail station Ticket Vending Machines.
- Free Period: From June 17 to 21, 2024, you can obtain the new blue SunCard for free by visiting a station ambassador.
- Promotional Pricing: After the free period, the blue SunCard will be available for a limited time at a promotional price of just 25 cents at any Ticket Vending Machine.
- Standard Pricing: Starting January 1, 2025, the new blue SunCard will revert to the standard price of $5.00.
Transferring Your SunCard Value:
- Value Transfer: Once you have your blue SunCard, transfer any remaining balance from your old account by visiting Accounts.SunRail.com.
- Compatibility: Your SunCard balance can be transferred to either a Mobile Ticket account or a new SunCard account.
For Single-Day Paper Ticket Users:
- Minimal Changes: Continue using single-day paper tickets by purchasing from the new white Ticket Vending Machines on the platforms. No additional changes are required.
For Mobile Ticketing Users:
- Continued Convenience: Mobile ticketing remains unchanged. Download the free app, purchase tickets in advance, and enjoy travel without the need to Tap On/Tap Off at stations.
