Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of National Entrepreneur Center CEO Belinda Ortiz Kirkegard to the Valencia College District Board of Trustees.

“This academic institution diligently works to meet our community’s growing workforce needs. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve on this board as the voice of our small business community,” says Belinda.

Kirkegard is the President of the National Entrepreneur Center. Previously, she was appointed to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and the Central Florida Corridor Task Force. She was listed as one of the 2023 “50 Most Powerful Ones to Watch” by Orlando Magazine and received the 2021 “People to Know Award” from Florida Trend. Kirkegard earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from the University of Central Florida and her master’s degree in public administration from Troy University.

In addition to Belinda Ortiz Kirkegard, Governor DeSantis appointed Blair Bradley and Shawn Hindle, while John Crossman was reappointed to the board. Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience and a dedication to serving the educational and economic needs of the region.a
