The ceremony featured special guest Retired Army Colonel D.J. Reyes and included representatives from the Osceola County Veteran’s Council, along with their Color Guard, members from the Military Museum of History, St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke, the Kissimmee Police Department, Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, State Attorney Andrew Bain, Kissimmee Mayor Olga Gonzalez, State Representative Kristen Arrington, US Congressman Darren Soto, and representatives from all branches of the U.S. Military, including the Borinqueneers and other veterans.
“We are excited to bring a Memorial Day event to honor those who have served this great Country to the Buenaventura Lakes community,” said Representative Stark. “It is important that we celebrate and honor our local veterans at 65th Infantry Veterans Park in Osceola County on Memorial Day.”
The event was an opportunity for the community to come together and show their respect, remembrance, and gratitude for the brave American heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. The presence of local leaders, law enforcement, and military personnel highlighted the community’s strong support for its veterans and the importance of Memorial Day.
The ceremony served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by servicemen and servicewomen and underscored the community’s commitment to honoring their legacy.
