Automotive agency AAA expects 70.9 million Americans to travel 50 miles or more from home for the July 4th holiday, with more than 85% going by auto. Once again AAA is stepping up to keep would-be and their vehicles off the road with its confidential and safe Tow to Go program in Florida.

When someone calls Tow to Go, a tow truck transports the vehicle and its owner to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. This service is free, whether the caller is a AAA member or not.

Tow to Go will operate from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 through 6 a.m. on Monday, July 8. Here’s the number to call if you’re in a pinch and need a ride:

  • (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246

Free confidential rides are available to both AAA members and non-members. Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group, emphasized, “By providing this program, AAA gives drivers no excuse for driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or impairing medications. However, we remind people to treat Tow to Go as a last resort. Instead, make advanced plans for a safe ride home, because you do not want to be remembered on Memorial Day as the person who made the fatal mistake of driving impaired.”
