A woman from Kissimmee was seriously injured early Monday in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Polk County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the 24-year-old woman was traveling south on State Road 33 near Van Fleet Road just before 5 am when she lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason and entered the northbound lane.
According to FHP, the woman’s vehicle struck the tractor-trailer almost head-on, ending up on the shoulder of the roadway.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 40-year-old from Tampa, suffered only minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
