Tim Weisheyer has been elected as the new Chair of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, succeeding Carson Good who announced he would not seek re-election after serving since August 2020.

Mr. Weisheyer was appointed to the GOAA Board in May 2021 by Governor Ron DeSantis and has also served as the Chairman of the Orlando Executive Airport Advisory Commission. He is an entrepreneur with two separate real estate brokerages, a development company and a consulting company. Formerly, Mr. Weisheyer served as a Chair and Board Member for the Osceola County School District. He is a past president of the Osceola County Association of Realtors and has been involved with several business and community organizations, including the YMCA and the Education Foundation of Osceola County.

“It is an honor to follow Carson Good, who had an exceptional tenure as Chair and led Orlando International and Orlando Executive airports into record-breaking growth,” said Chairman Weisheyer. “As the airport continues to expand and innovate, I look forward to working with him and the rest of our incredible board members to provide excellent services to our passengers. We are fortunate to have so many accomplished professionals on the Board, and within the organization, who stand ready to move the airport forward.”

“Chairman Good has long been a champion of our airports, embracing a Strategic Plan that serves us, and all of Central Florida, well,” said Kevin Thibault, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Tim Weisheyer, as Chairman, will help us to maintain a focus on the future and provide a continuity of vision that will keep the Aviation Authority clear on its Strategic Plan, priorities and purpose.”

Dr. John L. Evans, Jr., will continue in his role as Vice Chair; Belinda Kirkegard will continue as Board Treasurer.

Also at today’s board meeting, plans for a reimagined concessions program continued to take shape. The Board approved a request to extend certain current concession agreements to align with the Terminals A and B Concession Master Plan Leasing Strategy. This will allow staff to standardize the timing for when contracts expire so the Authority can implement a new leasing strategy that will attract large, medium and small concessionaires. Additionally, the plan will provide many opportunities for meaningful Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation.

Staff has been working with GOAA’s Concession Consultant on a plan to modernize the overall Terminals A and B concessions program. The resulting enhancements, in keeping with the pillars of the Strategic Plan, will provide more impactful spaces with concepts that will increase customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
